Held from the 1st up to the 10th of December every year, the Hornbill Festival. A gaiety of the state cultural and tribal traditions. Named after the esteemed hornbill bird, the festival is celebrated by all of the 17 major Naga tribes, each offering their distinct dances, folk songs, traditional sports, indigenous crafts, and native food.

Held at Kisama Heritage Village, a few kilometres out of Kohima, to save, promote, and develop Naga heritage as well as tourism. Visitors can view and revel with their colourful headgear; hear the sounds of the log drum; marvel at the wonders of local archery, wrestling, and art exhibitions: all weaving a fine thread into the cultural fabric. The festival stands as a Mela in the Indian context, which truly embodies the multicultural and ethnic uniqueness of India.
